Job summary

Coastal Horizons Center, Inc. is seeking a Chief Medical Officer (CMO) in Wilmington, NC to provide medical leadership for outpatient behavioral health and substance use programs. Preference given to physicians with Psychiatry or Addiction Psychiatry specialization.

The CMO will supervise clinicians, direct patient care activities, and drive program development with a focus on compliant, high-quality care. The role requires Medical School graduation, board eligibility or certification, and deep

Qualifications

• Medical school graduation with internship/residency completed.
• Board certification preferred; eligibility required.
• Thorough knowledge of substance use, addiction, mental health and co-occurring disorders.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Direct medical treatment activities for substance use and mental health programs.
• Lead medical direction and supervise clinicians and advanced practitioners.
• Provide consultation to medical and clinical staff on patient treatment and case management.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and quality improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with VP of Clinical Services on program evaluation and development.
• Liaise with community physicians/agencies to coordinate care.
• Oversee training and education for agency staff.
