The ideal candidate will be an MD with board certification, California license, and 12+ years of clinical leadership, with 7+ years serving Medi-Cal and Medicare populations, capable of aligning quality, operations, and community needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive oversight for Medical Management, Quality, Utilization Management, and Population Health.

• Partner with leadership to improve healthcare quality, patient outcomes, operational performance, and member experience.
• Build strong collaborative relationships with physicians, providers, and community partners.
• Lead and mentor physician leadership teams while fostering accountability, innovation, and engagement.

We are partnering with a mission-driven health plan seeking an experienced CMO to lead clinical strategy and support the continued evolution of healthcare delivery across the organization.

This is an opportunity for a seasoned physician leader who brings a strong understanding of Medi-Cal, Medicare, and government-sponsored healthcare programs. The organization is looking for someone who can balance clinical quality, operational performance, and the needs of the communities it serves.

A Few Highlights:

• Executive Compensation: $425,000 to $520,000 annually, (DOE)
• Provide executive oversight for Medical Management, Quality, Utilization Management, and Population Health
• Help shape clinical strategy and improve outcomes for Medi-Cal and Medicare members
• Partner with leadership to improve healthcare quality, patient outcomes, operational performance, and member experience
• Build strong collaborative relationships with physicians, providers, and community partners
• Lead and mentor physician leadership teams while fostering accountability, innovation, and engagement

The Ideal Candidate:

• MD and Board Certification in a medical specialty, required
• Active California medical license, required
• 12+ years of progressive clinical leadership experience within healthcare or managed care environments
• 7+ years experience working with Medi-Cal and Medicare populations
• Strong strategic leadership, communication, collaboration, and operational decision-making skills
• Experience with quality improvement, utilization management, and population health initiatives preferred
• A collaborative, hands-on leadership style with the ability to navigate complex clinical and operational challenges

Location & Lifestyle:

This role is located in Northern California. You must either reside in Northern CA or be willing to relocate in order to qualify for this position. This role offers a unique level of flexibility while maintaining strong leadership presence and engagement with the northern California communities and teams being served.
