Job summary

UC Davis Health seeks the Vice Dean for Medical Education to lead the medical education mission across Sacramento and Davis campuses. You will provide strategic vision, oversee the MD program, GME, and related programs, and ensure accreditation and innovation in education.

You will work with senior leaders, faculties, and external partners to advance teaching excellence, accountability, and resources aligned with UC Davis Health’s strategic plans.

Qualifications

• Must hold Full Professor appointment (Ladder-Rank, In Residence, or Clinical X) in an appropriate academic department.
• Experience leading medical education programs and accreditation activities.
• Ability to articulate strategic vision and oversee resource alignment.
• Strong leadership and collaboration across multiple campuses and constituencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee strategic vision, plan, and goals for medical education, accreditation, and educational innovation across campuses.
• Provide executive leadership across the MD program, Research Pathways, Global Health, GME, and related initiatives.
• Support senior leaders, establish expectations, and ensure coordination and alignment within the medical education mission.
• Maintain LCME accreditation and ACGME accreditation through continuous quality improvement and compliance.
• Advance scholarship and faculty development in education and mentorship.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and enhance medical education programs.
