Job summary

Pelago Health is seeking a physician-leader to serve as the clinical backbone for our AI-powered care platform. This senior role sets clinical standards across care programs and collaborates with Product, Engineering, and Research to ensure safe, scalable AI-driven care.

You will co-lead clinical governance, oversee MAT/MOUD programs, and align practices with regulatory requirements while guiding a fast-moving startup culture in a hybrid NYC environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of clinical experience in digital health or multi-site settings.
• Experience leading clinical standards across care programs.
• Familiarity with co-occurring mental health conditions and MAT/MOUD.
• Experience working at the intersection of clinical care and AI technology.
• Strong AI fluency: evaluating model outputs and prompts in clinical context.
• Exceptional communicator to translate clinical complexity for product teams and executives.
• Comfort navigating a fast-moving startup environment.
• Multi-state licensure or willingness to obtain is preferred.
• NYC-based or willing to relocate; hybrid presence expected.

Responsibilities

• Own clinical protocols, guidelines, and quality standards across Pelago's care model.
• Provide oversight and supervision to the care team; escalation point for high-acuity cases.
• Ensure practice aligns with evidence, regulatory requirements, and licensing standards.
• Lead clinical quality review and outcomes measurement.
• Oversee MAT/MOUD programs and safe prescribing practices.
• Serve as clinical supervisor for AI-driven care programs and governance.
