Job Description Summary

Ceramic Matrix Composite (CMC) Raw Material process and manufacturing engineering leader accountable for raw material producibility, in accordance with GE Engineering Handbook. Manages a large team executing technology development, industrialization, and process improvement of raw material manufacturing processes.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Safety – Prioritizes Process Safety Management (PSM) in the team’s work in process development (lab environment), technology industrialization, and deployment to high‑rate manufacturing sites.
  • Organizational Management – Manage a large highly technical team by setting priorities, recognizing performance, and coaching development opportunities.
  • Technical Talent Development – Attracts, develops, and retains top technical talent within the raw material manufacturing discipline.
  • Leads Cross‑Functional Teams – Leads project management and problem solving with cross‑functional teams (EHS, Quality, Operations, Cost). Drives customer‑focused perspective in problem solving.
  • Producibility – Manages producibility and MRL of CMC Raw Material in accordance with GE Aerospace Engineering Handbook. Apply APQP tools to drive process stability.
  • Technology Road Map – Manage CMC Raw Material Technology Roadmap, an annual evaluation of new technologies ready to deploy to production sights to drive Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC).
  • Project Management – Leads team to develop and implement projects requiring cross‑functional agreement and execution.
    • Cost/ Yield Project Management – Reduce the cost of CMC Raw Material
    • Disruptive Productivity – Decrease the resources required to manufacture CMC Raw Material
    • Equipment Procurement – Lead procurement of equipment required to industrialize CMCs for significant growth into 2030s.
  • Industry Insight – Lead team in evaluation of industry trends related to CMC Raw Material. Understand market dynamics and key supplier relationships. Collaborate with Sourcing to pro‑actively solve industry challenges.
  • Problem Solving via FLIGHTDECK – Utilize FLIGHTDECK and Structured Problem Solving to solve problems limited SQDC improvements to CMC Raw Materials.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 5 years Composite experience
  • Must be a US Citizen due to the nature of the work being performed
  • Willing and able to travel up to 50% during peak times, but overall travel is typically closer to 25%
