Job summary

A Chief Maintenance Engineer at Aloft will oversee maintenance operations, ensuring proper repair and service of all equipment while supporting guest satisfaction, cost control and profitability. The role includes leading the Preventative Maintenance program to keep rooms and public spaces aligned with brand standards.

Responsibilities include developing schedules, ensuring safety and security systems, and coordinating with the GM and department heads.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years in hotel engineering/maintenance or related work.
• Mid-level troubleshooting of mechanical, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, and HVAC.
• CPO and HVAC certification helpful.
• Basic computer skills; comfortable learning technology.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.
• Honesty and trustworthiness; pass pre-employment screenings.
• Physical ability to sit/stand, lift up to 60 lbs, and move about.
• Customer-focused with guest satisfaction in mind.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for the property, grounds and equipment.
• Establish maintenance schedules and prioritize repairs to minimize disruption.
• Maintain, monitor, and test the hotel’s emergency and security systems and procedures.
• Perform daily inspections to ensure standards for property, rooms, grounds and work areas.
• Prepare reports for the Housekeeping Manager and General Manager.
• Discuss maintenance status with GM/Owner/Department heads.
