Job summary

Pathfinder Hospitality in Austin, TX is seeking a Chief Maintenance Engineer to lead the hotel's engineering department. You will oversee maintenance across all equipment and systems, and drive preventive maintenance programs to minimize disruptions.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, hands-on knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and budgeting experience. This role emphasizes safety, reliability, and guest satisfaction, with an emphasis on platinum service.

  • Proficiency in computer skills and maintenance management software.
  • Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with vendors, contractors, and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the hotel's engineering department, overseeing maintenance operations for all equipment and systems.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs and procedures to optimize equipment lifespans and minimize disruptions.
  • Direct and supervise maintenance technicians, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and deadlines.
  • Manage budget allocations for maintenance supplies, equipment purchases, and contractor services.
  • Evaluate and prioritize maintenance requests, balancing guest needs with resource efficiency and long‑term sustainability.
  • Conduct regular inspections of hotel facilities and equipment, identifying potential risks and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:

Compensation/Pay: $27 - $31/hr
