This is a founder-led opportunity to help shape a platform that redefines legal clarity — not through disruption, but through trust, thoughtful design, and clear boundaries.

LegalMap is an early-stage legal guidance platform designed to help people navigate legal uncertainty — those moments when something feels wrong, but they’re not sure where to begin. Whether it’s a housing dispute, an issue at work, or a broken agreement, people are often left feeling confused, anxious, or forced to give up simply because they don’t know their rights — or whether what happened to them is even “legal.”

We’re building a system that changes that.

LegalMap uses AI to guide users through what happened, what kind of legal issue it might be, and what steps they could consider — whether it’s filing a complaint, exploring self-filing (pro se), or connecting with the right kind of lawyer. The platform is carefully designed to respect UPL boundaries, avoid giving legal advice, and put user control and privacy at the center of the experience.

Our goal is not to replace lawyers. It’s to reduce friction at the beginning of the legal journey — and when appropriate, deliver cleaner, more structured leads to aligned law firms who’ve opted in to receive cases they’re best equipped to handle. Lawyers gain efficiency. Users gain clarity. Everyone gains time.

The company is currently led by two founders — a CEO (operations and strategy) and a CTO (engineering and architecture). We’re now looking for our third founding partner: a legal architect who can help shape the right legal safeguards, UX logic, and trust infrastructure from the inside out.

What I’m Looking For

• A U.S.-licensed attorney with strong familiarity in:
• Legal ethics and professional responsibility
• UPL rules and attorney-client privilege issues
• Consumer-facing legal disclaimers, privacy, and platform compliance
• Bonus if you’ve worked with AI tools, legal marketplaces, or intake-based law firm workflows
• A deep respect for the law — and a builder’s mindset to match
• Collaborative and founder-friendly — this isn’t a “just review the documents” role. It’s a chance to help shape how we deliver real, lawful value to real people

Your Role Would Include

• Guiding UX and product flows to ensure we avoid UPL and unauthorized legal advice
• Helping define a scalable, trust-centered model for user opt-ins, privacy, and lawyer matching
• Reviewing (or drafting) the confidentiality and ethical pledges that lawyers must sign
• Advising on disclaimers, legal outreach policies, and internal data handling protocols
• Collaborating with product, dev, and patent counsel to align AI behavior with legal standards
• Shaping how we communicate our model to users, lawyers, and (eventually) regulators

Compensation

This is an equity-based founding opportunity, with flexibility based on your level of involvement. We’re open to creative structuring — whether that means joining as a fractional co-founder, lead legal architect, or transitioning into a long-term strategic or advisory role.
