Job Description for Chief Inspector

Job Summary
The Chief Inspector is responsible for Quality Control within the 145 repair station, ensuring adherence to the Repair Station Quality Control Manual (RSQCM), Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM), and all 14 CFR Aviation Regulations.
Responsibilities
- Meet requirements as set in §65.71 and possess an Airframe Certificate.
- Train, direct, and assist all inspection personnel under the repair station certificate.
- Ensure inspector proficiency via the Inspector Proficiency Checklist RSF-211-01.
- Perform incoming, hidden damage, preliminary, in-process, and final inspections following manual procedures.
- Report serious failures, malfunctions, or defects as per procedures.
- Respond to inspection requests for the repair station certificate.
- Determine final disposition of articles failing inspection.
- Ensure calibration and checks on tools and equipment are performed and records maintained.
- Manage inventory levels of repair parts, reordering, receiving, and documentation.
- Assist Field & Tech Services with inquiries.
- Perform additional duties as needed.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, manuals (CMMs), schematics, and work instructions.
- Proficiency with electronics test equipment such as Spectrum Analyzers, O-scopes, multimeters, and power supplies.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
- Proficiency with PC and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong customer service, organizational, and phone skills.
Qualifications and Experience
- Airframe Certification required; A&P certification preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in electronics or avionics repair and installation.
- Experience with aviation OEMs and FAA FAR 145 repair station regulations is a plus.

Work Schedule and Compensation
Hours: 8am-5pm Monday-Friday, with occasional overtime. Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 annually.
