As a key member of the executive leadership team, the Chief Information Officer (CIO) will lead the strategic and operational management of our company's information and technology functions. The CIO will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of enterprise-wide IT systems, ensuring robust cybersecurity, and leveraging technology to drive business success. This role demands a visionary leader who can merge IT with business processes to enhance service delivery and facilitate sustainable growth.

This is a highly visible role that requires a forward-thinking leader who can leverage current and emerging technologies that continually improve the quality and efficiency of service.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Strategic Technology Leadership and Management

  • Champion a business-first IT strategy by aligning technology initiatives with organizational goals, ensuring that all IT investments and operations directly support business growth, efficiency, and competitive advantage.
  • Provide vision and leadership organizationally, hiring and enabling a high-performing, proactive culture through effective performance management, communication, and ongoing development
  • Quickly grasp complex business models and identify technological opportunities to address business needs
  • Manage the operating and capital budgets and allocate resources effectively to maximize ROI
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with Network’s business objectives and strategic plan
  • Anticipate emerging technology trends and proactively recommend innovative solutions
  • Allocate resources effectively to support IT initiatives and day-to-day operations
  • Promotes a caring and collaborative environment and actively provide mentoring, performance coaching and staff development opportunities designed to increase employee engagement and retention of employees at all levels.
  • Has a passion for developing a team of high-performing managers aligned with the company’s goals and leading a large team of IT professionals equipped to meet rapidly evolving business needs - leads by example.
  • Lead with a servant leadership mindset, fostering a culture of trust, empowerment, and collaboration across teams, while prioritizing the development and success of individuals to drive collective organizational outcomes.
  • Proven ability to provide strategic, executional and tactical leadership for all things IT touches or could touch.

Operations and Infrastructure

  • Oversee IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, telecommunications, and end-user systems
  • Ensure business continuity and disaster recovery plans are in place and regularly tested
  • Implement and regularly test business continuity and disaster recovery plans

Security and Compliance

  • Lead cybersecurity initiatives, including threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management
  • Will ensure high reliable solutions and infrastructure and protect the company from cyber or other types of security risks.

Application and Systems Management

  • Evaluate, select, and implement new software applications and technologies
  • Manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers
  • Skilled in negotiation of costs, business terms, SLAs and scope of services with vendors, contractors and others.
  • Oversee the maintenance, support, and upgrades of existing applications and systems

Innovation and Digital Transformation

  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and assess their potential impact and benefit to Network
  • Has the ability to think ahead and imagine what could be, while being practicable and considerate of actual business needs.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Champion the adoption of new technologies and provide training and support to users

Collaboration and Communication

  • Collaborate effectively with Network staff to understand their technology needs and provide solutions
  • Ensures IT alignment with corporate growth strategy.
  • Work with key stakeholders to prioritize projects, and oversee project planning, budgeting and management to ensure that activities necessary to maintain, update and upgrade our network and application infrastructure are completed on time and on budget
  • Known as an excellent communicator who is approachable and comfortable in various settings, from one-on-one meetings with staff to presentations to prospective customers and large gatherings with company stakeholders. Has the innate ability to connect with both technical and non-technical people.
  • Handles ambiguity, influences others, and finds ways to move initiatives forward to meet critical deadlines and produce results
  • Ability to lead Board-level discussions on IT related matters, including cybersecurity issues, investment ideas, and Return on Investment concepts

WHO YOU ARE:

  • 10+ years of IT experience with at least 5 years in senior leadership
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and influencing executive stakeholders
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; Master's degree preferred
  • Proven track record of aligning technology initiatives with business strategy
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Distribution industry experience is a plus
