Job summary

The Central Alabama Health Care System (CAVHCS) within the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs seeks a Supervisory Biomedical Engineer to lead the Healthcare Technology Management (HTM) Service.

The role includes directing budget, staffing, and policies to support patient care and safety across the facility and VISN 7. The incumbent will oversee medical equipment planning, procurement coordination, and adherence to The Joint Commission and NFPA requirements, while reporting to senior leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Certification as a Certified Clinical Engineer (CCE) or equivalent.
• Experience managing healthcare technology programs and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Healthcare Technology Management (HTM) program as Chief of HTM Service.
• Provide executive consultation to leadership and develop policy guidance.
• Supervise engineering staff and manage budget resources for maintenance and QA.
