Job summary
The Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care system is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Support Specialist to manage the lifecycle of medical equipment and clinical systems. You will perform inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting, and document actions in CMMS while supporting staff and responding to incidents.
Qualifications include US citizenship, English proficiency, and relevant education/certification in biomedical tech, electronics, IT, or HTM.
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and English language proficiency required.
- Education or certification in biomedical technology, electronics, IT, or engineering.
- Experience or training in biomedical equipment maintenance and repair.
- Ability to document services and maintain records in CMMS.
- Security/background checks and onboarding processes required.
Responsibilities
- Manages lifecycle of medical equipment and clinical systems.
- Performs inspections, maintenance, testing, and corrective actions.
- Documents actions in CMMS and associated systems.
- Responds to hazards, recalls, or incidents and documents remediation.
- Monitors backups, cybersecurity, and network connectivity for clinical systems.
- Provides customer support to staff and educates users on equipment operation.
- Serves as COR and manages vendor contracts and performance.
- Ensures compliance with standards and regulatory requirements.
