Job summary

Commonwealth Care of Roanoke is seeking an executive HR leader to define and drive HR strategy across twelve centers, coaching center-level HR Managers and supervising a home office team. You will own recruiting, benefits, leave administration, and compliance, including licensure tracking.

The role emphasizes building programs, driving change, and partnering with senior leadership to address people issues that impact resident care and organizational culture.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of senior HR management experience, ideally in healthcare.
• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field; master's preferred.
• SHRM-CP or PHR required; SHRM-SCP or SPHR strongly preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of employment law and its application.
• Experience with HRIS platforms; Paycom experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set HR strategy and lead workforce initiatives to improve retention, engagement, and performance; partner with Operations.
• Supervise and develop the Regional HRBPs and HR Operations Coordinator; coach center-level HR Managers.
• Oversee home office HR functions: recruiting, onboarding, benefits, and FMLA leave administration.
• Oversee compliance across all twelve centers: licensure tracking, personnel files, leave tracking, and benefits testing/filing.
• Lead sensitive employee relations matters and investigations to resolution.
• Build career paths and leadership development programs to support CCR's culture of care.
• Review HR policies annually and maintain knowledge of employment law.
• Manage HR vendor relationships and audit center HR functions for consistency.
