Job summary

Weyerhaeuser’s Western Timberlands Division seeks a Chief Pilot based in McMinnville, Oregon to lead safe and compliant flight operations across forestry, fire suppression, aerial application, and heavy-lift missions. You will oversee pilot leadership, training, and operational standards while ensuring readiness and regulatory compliance across diverse crews and aircraft.

The role requires extensive rotor-wing PIC experience, FAA certifications, and strong leadership in high-risk environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher degree in aviation, safety, or related field preferred.
• FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Rotorcraft-Helicopter and Instrument-Helicopter ratings.
• S-70 PIC type rating.
• Current FAA medical certificate.
• Significant rotor-wing PIC experience in high-risk operations.
• Knowledge of FAA Parts 91, 133, and 137 and managing training/records.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for rotor-wing flight operations across multiple missions, ensuring safety and compliance.
• Establish operational standards and verify adherence to SOPs.
• Maintain compliance with FAA regulations and company requirements; oversee training records.
• Lead investigations, implement corrective actions, and maintain safety management systems.
• Oversee pilot development, standardization programs, and performance management.
• Coordinate with maintenance, safety, and field teams to ensure mission readiness.
