Job summary

The Guild for Human Services in Massachusetts seeks an accomplished nurse leader to serve as Chief Health Services Officer, directing an integrated health system for ~180 individuals with IDD, autism, and complex medical needs. You will report to the CEO and lead nursing, medical, psychiatric, dental, and nutrition services across educational, youth, and residential programs.

You will build an interdisciplinary team, shape strategies for high-quality, person-centered care, ensure MAP compliance

Qualifications

• Massachusetts RN license with a master’s degree or higher.
• Experience in IDD, complex care, residential services, behavioral health.
• Proven leadership in health services, quality, and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Lead nursing and health services across The Guild's educational, youth residential, and adult residential programs.
• Oversee MAP and medication safety systems and coordination of primary, specialty, psychiatric, dental, nutrition, and pharmacy services.
• Coordinate individualized health planning and care coordination for people with complex needs.
• Drive clinical quality, patient safety, risk management, and performance improvement.
• Ensure compliance with MA DPH, DDS, DESE, DEEC, DCF, MAP, contractual, and CARF requirements.
• Recruit, develop, and mentor nursing and health services professionals.
• Develop innovative approaches to improving access, continuity, and quality of care.

The Guild for Human Services is seeking an accomplished nurse leader to serve as our Chief Health Services Officer, leading an integrated health services system for approximately 180 children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism, and complex medical and behavioral health needs.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the CEO and serving as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Chief Health Services Officer provides organization-wide leadership for nursing, medical, psychiatric, medication administration, nutrition, dental, and related health services.

You will lead a strong interdisciplinary health services team that includes school and residential nurses, nurse case managers, a psychiatric nurse practitioner, dietitian, Medical Director, psychiatrist, pharmacy partners, dental providers, and other community specialists.

The CHSO will have the opportunity to shape how health care is delivered across The Guild, developing systems that provide excellent clinical care while supporting something equally important: the autonomy, dignity, safety, and quality of life of the people we serve.

What You'll Lead

• Nursing and health services across The Guild's educational, youth residential, and adult residential programs.
• The organization's Massachusetts Medication Administration Program (MAP) and medication safety systems.
• Coordination of primary, specialty, psychiatric, dental, nutrition, pharmacy, and other health services.
• Individualized health planning and care coordination for people with complex and often highly specialized needs.
• Clinical quality, patient safety, health-related risk management, and performance improvement.
• Health-services compliance with Massachusetts DPH, DDS, DESE, DEEC, DCF, MAP, contractual, and CARF requirements.
• Recruitment, development, and mentorship of nursing and Health Services professionals.
• Continued development of innovative approaches to improving access, continuity, and quality of care.

Who We're Looking For

The successful candidate will be a Massachusetts-licensed Registered Nurse with a master's degree or higher and significant progressive leadership experience. Experience in intellectual and developmental disabilities, complex care, residential services, special education, behavioral health, MAP, or Massachusetts human-services systems is highly valued.

Just as important, we are looking for someone who still cares deeply about the people behind the systems they lead: a nurse executive who wants to know the individuals receiving care, support the professionals providing it, and build a health-services system in which excellent care and meaningful relationships reinforce one another.
