Qualifications

• Requires medical degree and MPH with relevant public health experience.
• Licensed by the Maryland Board of Physicians.
• Experience in local/state/federal health agencies preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage operations of the Health Department to prevent disease and protect public health.
• Oversee foundational public health areas and capabilities and coordinate with the Board of Health.
• Lead divisions, supervise staff, and ensure program budgets and performance management.
• Serve as spokesperson and policy advisor for local health issues and emergency preparedness.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal health regulations and reporting requirements.
