Job summary

Community Solutions Inc. (CSI) seeks a visionary Vice President of Organizational Advancement to join the Executive Leadership Team in Windsor, CT. You will drive growth across contracts, grants, and donor development while expanding CSI’s external presence with government agencies, funders, and national organizations.

You will lead an advancement team, foster collaboration, and align revenue strategies with program delivery, ensuring CSI’s long-term sustainability and impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management or related field.
• 7+ years of leadership experience in nonprofit growth, advancement, external affairs, or similar.
• Proven success securing government contracts, grants, and philanthropic donations.
• Established relationships across human services, particularly criminal and/or juvenile justice systems, and/or child welfare.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication (including public speaking), networking, and strategic thinking skills.
• Ability to lead multiple, complex, cross-functional initiatives and drive results.

Responsibilities

• Grow CSI’s growth activities across contracts, grants, donor development, fundraising, and earned revenue.
• Build disciplined systems for opportunity identification, evaluation, and pursuit.
• Align growth efforts with operational capacity and program delivery, in collaboration with Senior Leaders.
• Oversee RFP and grant development processes; strengthen competitiveness and win rates.
• Continue diversification of revenue streams across government and philanthropic sources.
• Support expansion of CSI’s Learning Institute as a mission-aligned revenue-generating service line.
• Identify and pursue partnerships with other nonprofits, including affiliations, acquisitions and/or mergers.
• Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, funders, and national organizations.
• Coordinate contract negotiations on behalf of CSI when necessary.
• Strengthen CSI’s visibility and leadership in the field; represent CSI in external forums, coalitions, and partnerships.
• Ensure an efficient and effective volunteer program.
• Manage media relations and external communications.
• Lead and develop a high-performing advancement team; foster collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Encourage streamlined internal communications platforms and staff engagement.
