Job summary

Fredericksburg VA Health Care Center is seeking a physician leader for Geriatrics & Extended Care. You will oversee outpatient and HBPC programs, collaborate with the IDT, and advance quality improvement efforts across GEC services.

The role requires board-eligible or -certified expertise, full medical licensure in the U.S., and a track record in geriatrics leadership and teaching. Expect a comprehensive VA benefits package and physician-reward structure.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship or eligible as per VA policy.
• MD/DO from an approved school; licensure in the U.S.
• Full, unrestricted medical license in the U.S.
• Residency in an approved core specialty; board eligibility
• Proficiency in English; strong leadership and teaching skills

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative, clinical, and programmatic leadership for GEC at FxHCC.
• Collaborate with inter-disciplinary teams and stakeholders daily.
• Lead program development, quality improvement, and systems redesign projects.
• Supervise physicians, nurse practitioners, and staff in GEC programs.
• Provide clinical coverage in GEC and non-institutional care programs; travel as needed.
• Complete medical records and documentation in a timely, accurate manner.
