UC San Diego Academic Jobs seeks a visionary Chief for the Division of Genomics and Precision Medicine in the UC San Diego Department of Medicine. The division advances population genomics, precision medicine, and translational research with extensive extramural funding and collaborative programs.

The leader will set strategic goals, foster collaboration, mentor faculty, and oversee budgets, staffing, and external collaborations while advancing education and clinical translation.

Qualifications

• PhD, MD/PhD, or equivalent in genetics, genomics, bioinformatics, or related field.
• Minimum 5+ years leading a clinical/translational and/or basic research program with independent extramural funding.
• Board certification or board eligibility and California medical license or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide visionary leadership for the Division of Genomics and Precision Medicine.
• Drive research and translation of findings into clinical practice, securing external funding.
• Develop and lead educational programs for students, residents, and faculty; mentor colleagues.
• Manage division finances, recruitment, retention, and representation in meetings and committees.
