Jewish Family Service of Metropolitan Detroit is seeking a Chief Philanthropy Officer to lead all fundraising efforts, engaging the board and CEO to grow support for essential services.

The role requires 5–8 years of nonprofit development experience, with a Master’s degree preferred and CFRE being a plus. You will oversee donor stewardship, communications, and volunteer programs while advancing JFS’s mission and impact.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of development experience in a human services nonprofit setting.
• Master’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
• CFRE certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive fund-raising program to grow philanthropic opportunities.
• Engage the board and CEO in fundraising and marketing initiatives.
• Identify prospective individual, corporate, and foundation donors.
• Oversee donor stewardship and fundraising software usage.
• Lead volunteer services and community outreach to support initiatives.
• Collaborate on donor communications, solicitations, and recognition programs.
• Represent the agency in presentations to stakeholders and communities.
• Stay current on ethics and evolving fundraising best practices.
• Uphold privacy and security policies in development activities.
• Participate in agency and partner fundraising campaigns and activities.
