Job summary

The City and County of Denver is seeking a Crime Lab Director to lead the Denver Police Department's Crime Lab. This executive role will drive division strategy, ensure accreditation, and oversee multidisciplinary forensic operations within a high-profile governmental setting.

You will manage forensic managers and staff, uphold ISO:17025 standards, and represent the lab to prosecutors, victims, defense counsel, and the public with exceptional communication and political acumen.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading a laboratory or forensic division.
  • Familiarity with ISO 17025 accreditation standards.
  • Strong executive-level communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proven ability to lead in a political and highly regulated environment.
  • Experience with public-facing briefings and decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Develop division strategy and multi-year plans for the crime lab.
  • Oversee accreditation compliance and multidisciplinary forensic operations.
  • Lead Forensic Managers, Supervisors, Criminalists, and staff with a focus on coaching and development.
