Brilliant® is seeking a Chief Financial Officer for a boutique Financial Services Firm in Downtown Chicago. The role will oversee financial operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide strategic financial guidance to support business growth.

Hybrid work arrangement in Downtown Chicago. CPA certification and 10+ years in Finance & Accounting with exceptional leadership are required to lead a small team and drive financial modelling, KPI development, and reporting across multiple entities.

Qualifications

• CPA certification required.
• 10+ years of experience in a management role in Finance & Accounting.
• Proven leadership and team management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and expertise in financial accounting, budgeting, financial systems and strategic financial planning.
• Manage a small team of around 2–3 people.
• Oversee preparation and presentation of financial statements ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards.
• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes including consolidation for multiple entities.
• Prepare reports and deliver actionable insights to senior management and stakeholders.
• Lead financial due diligence for mergers, acquisitions or partnerships.
• Manage cash flow and liquidity for operations and investments.
• Oversee finance functions including cash forecasting, investment management and banking relationships.

Summary:

This position will be responsible for managing the organizations financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing strategic financial guidance to support business growth.

Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and expertise in financial accounting, budgeting, financial systems, strategic financial planning and problem solving.
• Manage a small team of around 2-3 people.
• Oversee the preparation and presentation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with accounting standards.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, including consolidation and reporting for multiple entities.
• Prepare reports and deliver actionable insights to senior management and stakeholders.
• Lead financial due diligence for potential mergers, acquisitions, or partnerships.
• Manage the organizations cash flow, ensuring adequate liquidity for operational needs and investment activities.
• Oversee Finance functions including cash forecasting, investment management, and banking relationships.

Qualifications:

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.
• 10+ years of experience in a management role in Finance & Accounting
• Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities.
• Proficiency in financial modeling, analysis, KPI development and reporting.
• Expertise in financial software and systems with the ability to leverage AI to promote efficiency.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.

Salary Range: 200K-225K+ Bonus
