Our client, a mid-sized investment consulting firm with corporate HQ in Chicago, is searching for a CFO/Director of Finance and Accounting to oversee their financial and accounting departments. This role will curate the firm’s financial strategies and guide critical business growth. Note this is an in-office hybrid position and candidate must be based in Chicago.

Responsibilities:

• Generate short-term and long-term financial strategies to meet firm’s growth objectives.
• Serve as a leader and mentor to the financial and accounting departments.
• Oversee financial reporting including financial statements, quarterly reports, and cash flow forecasting.
• Ensure firm’s compliance with accounting standards and financial due diligence, such as GAAP and IFRS
• Manage firm’s liquidity as it relates to operation and investment management
• Communicate financial data and insights to internal and external stakeholders through standard financial reports.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.
• 10+ years of experience in a managerial role required; financial services experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and financial software/systems required.
• Proven ability to analyze and communicate finances and KPI’s to internal and external stakeholders.
• A relationship-oriented work ethic coupled with outstanding conflict resolution and decision-making skills.
• Demonstrated entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to think strategically while remaining hands‑on and closely connected to the day‑to‑day business.

Salary: Competitive base salary (200-250k) and bonus opportunity
