Job summary

Quail West is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to join its leadership team in Naples, FL. The CFO will guide financial strategy, oversee all accounting functions, and partner with the COO, Board, and department leaders to safeguard long‑term financial health.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of senior financial leadership in hospitality or related sectors with CPA and GAAP mastery, strong strategic and communication skills, and a proven track record of building high‑performing teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• CPA certification and/or Master's degree preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience in organizations of similar size and complexity.
• Experience in private clubs, hospitality, real estate development, or related service industry preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
• Demonstrated ability to partner with executive leadership and Board stakeholders.
• Proven leadership developing teams, improving processes, and driving accountability.
• Experience with financial technology systems including accounting software, payroll, and POS platforms.
• Excellent communication skills; ability to explain complex financial information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial leadership and oversee all accounting functions.
• Serve as trusted advisor to COO, Board leadership, Finance Committee, and department leaders.
• Oversee financial operations: accounting, AP, AR, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, internal controls.
• Lead monthly financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and board reporting.
• Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and systems for growth.
• Guide budgeting, capital planning, and financial performance with department leaders.
• Oversee audits, tax, insurance, and compliance activities.
• Manage banking relationships, investments, and cash flow strategies.
• Collaborate with leadership on technology initiatives and continuous improvement.
• Mentor and develop Finance and IT teams; promote accountability and collaboration.

What You'll Do:

As the Chief Financial Officer, you will provide strategic financial leadership and oversee all accounting functions, including:

• Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic thought partner to the COO, Board leadership, Finance Committee, and department leaders.
• Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and internal controls.
• Lead the preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements, operating budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting for leadership and Board review.
• Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and systems that support operational excellence and organizational growth.
• Provide financial guidance and education to department leaders regarding budgeting, capital planning, and financial performance.
• Oversee annual audits, tax preparation, insurance matters, and financial compliance activities.
• Manage banking relationships, investments, cash flow strategies, and financial risk management.
• Partner with leadership on technology initiatives, business systems, and continuous improvement opportunities.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the Finance and IT teams while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.

What We're Looking For:

The ideal candidate is an accomplished financial leader who combines strong technical expertise with business acumen, emotional intelligence, and a passion for hospitality.

Qualifications include:

• CPA certification and/or Master's degree preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience in an organization of similar size and complexity.
• Experience in private clubs, hospitality, real estate development, or a related service-oriented industry preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
• Demonstrated ability to serve as a strategic partner to executive leadership and Board-level stakeholders.
• Proven leadership experience developing teams, improving processes, and driving accountability.
• Strong understanding of financial technology systems, including accounting software, payroll systems, and point-of-sale platforms.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly and effectively.
• High integrity, sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to manage confidential information.
