ProSource Group is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to lead the financial operations of its contracting business and affiliated entities from the Baldwin, New York office. The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution, overseeing budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and consolidated reporting while guiding the finance team.

The ideal candidate will have extensive CFO or senior finance experience, multi-entity oversight, and strong commercial judgment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead the financial strategy and day-to-day financial operations of the group.
• Provide strategic financial advice to the Owner and Co-Owner.
• Oversee consolidated reporting across the contracting company and affiliated businesses.
• Lead, support and develop the existing finance and accounting team.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow planning and financial analysis.
• Improve the accuracy, consistency and timeliness of management reporting.
• Establish and maintain appropriate financial controls, policies and procedures.
• Monitor financial performance and provide ownership with meaningful commercial insights.
• Oversee relationships with banking, accounting, tax, insurance and other financial partners.
• Support business planning, investment decisions and future growth initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial, tax and reporting requirements.
• Remain directly involved in key accounting and financial matters when required.

Job description

We are supporting an established specialist contractor based in Baldwin, New York, in appointing a Chief Financial Officer to lead the financial operations of its contracting business and affiliated companies.

Reporting directly to the Owner and Co-Owner, the successful candidate will oversee the wider group’s financial strategy, reporting, controls and day-to-day financial operations. They will inherit an established finance team and be responsible for developing its capabilities while providing ownership with clear and commercially focused financial guidance.

This is both a strategic and hands-on position. The CFO will act as a trusted adviser to ownership while remaining closely involved in budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management, financial reporting and key accounting matters.

Previous construction or contracting experience would be advantageous but is not essential. The company will consider accomplished financial leaders from other industries who can demonstrate strong commercial judgment, multi-entity financial experience and the ability to lead a finance team.

Requirements

• Significant financial leadership experience as a CFO, VP of Finance, Finance Director, Controller or comparable senior position.
• Ability to combine strategic financial leadership with hands-on execution.
• Experience overseeing the finances of multiple companies or business entities is desirable.
• Construction, contracting or project-based industry experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Knowledge of construction accounting, WIP reporting, job costing and bonding would be beneficial.
• Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management, reporting and financial controls.
• Previous experience leading and developing a finance or accounting team.
• Strong commercial judgment and the confidence to advise business owners.
• CPA, MBA or comparable professional credentials are desirable but not required.
• Willingness to work full-time from the company’s office in Baldwin, New York.
• Base salary of $200,000–$300,000+, depending on experience.
