- Provide financial guidance to the CEO, executive leadership, and Board of Directors.
- Lead, mentor, and support an experienced accounting and finance team.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen internal controls, streamline processes, and improve operational efficiencies.
- Oversee financial risk management and support long-term organizational sustainability.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive financial management experience, including at least 4 years in a leadership capacity.
- Strong technical accounting background with demonstrated hands-on general ledger and financial reporting experience.
- Proven ability to manage accounting operations, budgets, audits, and complex financial processes.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across both financial and nonfinancial departments.
- A proactive, solutions-oriented leadership style and willingness to remain actively involved in day-to-day operations.
- Flexibility to support time-sensitive accounting and payroll responsibilities, including occasional evening work.
- Genuine interest in human services and a commitment to mission-driven work.
Preferred, but Not Required:
- CPA or advanced degree.
- Public accounting experience.
- Nonprofit accounting, grant management, or government contract experience.
- Familiarity with fund accounting and nonprofit regulatory reporting.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
- Strong Financial Foundation: Join an organization with an established accounting function, efficient monthly close processes, and a history of clean audits.
