Ready to fuel our next stage of growth? We're looking for a strategic CFO to drive financial growth, optimize operations, and ensure long-term stability. Working with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), you will oversee budgeting, forecasting, risk management, and compliance, ensuring alignment with state, federal, and GAAP standards. You'll lead audits, financial planning, and operational improvements, providing data-driven insights that fuel growth and empower our community.

Strategic Financial Leadership & Planning

Develop and execute long- and short-term financial strategies that align with the credit union's mission and objectives. Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance analysis to drive informed business decisions and operational efficiency.

Regularly communicate financial results, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations to the Board of Directors, Supervisory Committee, CEO, and management team, ensuring transparency and sound decision-making. Additionally, support the organization in evaluating growth opportunities, capital investments, and financial sustainability initiatives to strengthen long-term success.

Y ou'll be responsible for :

Financial Operations & Compliance

Oversee accounting, treasury, asset liability management (ALM), investments, and risk assessment to ensure financial stability and regulatory compliance. Act as the primary liaison with auditors and regulators, ensuring transparency and accountability. Develop and implement financial policies that enhance efficiency, compliance, and integration across all departments, supporting long-term success.

Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

Lead and develop the finance and accounting team, fostering excellence, innovation, and efficiency. Oversee hiring, performance, coaching, and training to maximize team potential and ensure compliance with regulations and organizational goals. Collaborate with executive leadership to align financial strategies, optimize costs, and enhance operational efficiency. Conduct regular reviews and hold staff meetings to drive engagement, improve processes, and keep teams informed on key developments.

Implement and oversee internal audit processes, including cash counts, teller drawer audits, loan documentation reviews, and fraud risk mitigation, to ensure financial integrity and regulatory compliance. Develop risk management strategies that safeguard liquidity, investments, and operational stability. Assist in vendor negotiations and major purchasing decisions, ensuring financial prudence and cost-effectiveness. Continuously evaluate and enhance internal controls, conducting regular audits and reviews to mitigate risks and strengthen financial oversight.

Innovation & Financial Process Optimization

Utilizing data analytics and financial modeling to drive informed decision-making and enhance financial efficiency. Identify and implement technological advancements to modernize operations, improve reporting accuracy, and streamline financial processes. Focus on member-centric strategies that promote financial sustainability and long-term growth, ensuring the credit union remains competitive and forward-thinking.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field required; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in finance or accounting with a progressive track record; experience in the financial sector is highly valued.
  • 5+ years in a senior management or executive leadership role responsible for finance; initiatives contributing to an organization's financial success.
  • ALM certification preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills to inspire a high-performing team and foster collaboration.
  • Experience developing member-centric strategies that drive sustainable growth, increase engagement and build loyalty.
