Job summary

Loffredo Fresh Foods in Des Moines, IA seeks a Chief Financial Officer to lead the finance department and execute the strategic vision of the organization. The CFO will oversee accounting, reporting, and financial operations while collaborating with senior leadership.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years in financial executive leadership, a BA in accounting/finance, and CPA preferred. The role offers competitive compensation, benefits, and a strong culture of accountability and engagement.

Qualifications

• BA in Accounting and/or Finance.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial executive leadership role.
• Experience in a distribution or transportation company is preferred.
• Experience must include full accrual accounting, (GL, AP, AR, and financial statements).
• Certified Public Accountant certification is preferred.
• Strong financial, technical, and reporting skills along with a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership to the Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology and Safety departments.
• Develop financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities, and staffing requirements.
• Oversee monthly financial reporting process including key metrics, results, and variance analysis.
• Enhance finance operations by evaluating trends and improving productivity.
• Oversee payroll processes and related functions.
• Maintain relationships with financial institutions and business partners.
• Promote company culture and core values in daily operations.
• Collaborate with auditors on annual financial reporting.

We are currently seeking aChief Financial Officer (CFO) to join the LFF team at our Des Moines, IA location. This position requires a highly motivated professional with the desire and capability to be accountable for and provide leadership to the finance department on a daily basis. The CFO serves as a critical member of the senior leadership team whose responsibility is to establish and achieve the strategic vision of the organization.

Essential Functions:

• Provide strategic leadership to the Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology and Safety departments
• Develop financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities, and staffing requirements.
• Oversee the company monthly financial reporting process including key metrics, financial results, and variance analysis.
• Enhance finance operational strategies by evaluating trends, establishing critical measurements, and improve overall productivity throughout the organization.
• Evaluate opportunities to automate processes to increase efficiency throughout the organization.
• Oversee the company’s payroll process and all related functions.
• Develop, assess and maintain a close relationship with financial institutions, insurance contacts, and other business partners.
• Maintain and continuously improve safety programs to ensure team members have a safe work environment.
• Analyze and make recommendations to improve the company's benefit plans and serve as the lead fiduciary.
• Strongly promote our culture to attract team members and business partners that share our Core Values.
• Conduct the annual reporting process and collaborate with outside auditors on the annual financial reporting process.
• Perform other job-related duties or special projects as required.

Basic Requirements:

• BA in Accounting and/or Finance
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial executive leadership role
• Experience in a distribution or transportation company is preferred
• Experience must include full accrual accounting, (GL, AP, AR, and financial statements)
• Certified Public Accountant certification is preferred
• Strong financial, technical, and reporting skills along with a strong work ethic
