Job summary

We are seeking a Chief Financial Officer to lead all financial operations for a healthcare-focused organization in Concord, NH. Reporting to the President/CEO, you will oversee finance, payroll and revenue cycle, and provide critical analyses to support strategic initiatives and daily operations.

You will direct accounting information systems, ensure compliance with regulations, manage budgeting and forecasting, and work with senior leadership to optimize financial viability and reporting

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration or related field.
  • Master's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.
  • Five to seven years of senior level finance experience.
  • Ten to fifteen years of progressive management experience, preferably in a healthcare organization with at least five years of executive finance experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all financial operations, policies, accounting system and cost controls.
  • Direct payroll, AR/AP, general ledger, and financial reporting systems.
  • Maximize reimbursements through efficient billing and collections.
  • Prepare and file periodic financial statements for internal and regulatory use.
  • Coordinate annual budget and provide forecasts for President/CEO and Board.
  • Ensure internal controls and risk management.
  • Present financial information to governance bodies.
  • Support strategic initiatives with financial analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Participate in compliance reviews and audits.

Education

Description

Reporting to the President/CEO, the Chief Financial Officer is the strategic, top-level leader who provides leadership and oversight of finance, payroll and revenue cycle. This includes identifying opportunities that support fiscal viability. Key responsibilities include working closely with President/CEO and the Senior Management Team to support the agency's strategic initiatives and operations, as well as providing necessary financial information and analysis to monitor agency operations efficiently and effectively.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for leading all financial business operations and implementing financial policies, accounting system and cost controls.
  • Directs the management of all accounting information systems including payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, financial reporting and statistical reporting systems.
  • Ensures maximum third-party reimbursement through efficient billing and collections operations, effective accounts receivable management and a thorough understanding of cost reimbursement principles.
  • Responsible for financial affairs of agency. Prepares and files periodic financial statements for internal users, authorized third parties and regulatory agencies on an ongoing basis.
  • Coordinates the preparation of the annual budget, monitors allocation of funds with budgetary limitations, prepares budget variation reports for review, provides budget forecast reports for approval of the President/CEO and the Board of Trustees.
  • Manages the ancillary office staff, finance and billing staff efficiently and effectively.
  • Protects the assets of the Agency through effective internal controls, internal auditing, insurance coverage, and direct supervision of financial operations.
  • Ensures proper utilization of the Agency resources through controls of cash disbursements through an effective accounts payable system.
  • Evaluate financial provisions of proposed contracts and agreements for provision of services to optimize financial viability of the agreements.
  • Gather, collate and report key operating statistics through the effective utilization of information systems.
  • Directs payroll practices and collaborates with other members of the management team in establishing personnel policies that ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including wages, salaries and benefit regulations.
  • Acts as the financial liaison to the governing body and attends meetings to present the financial information.
  • Serves as a member of the Agency's Management Team and assists with development of overall policies, programs, objectives, and goals.
  • Reviews policies, procedures, objectives and goals for each area of responsibility to ensure that they support program policies and objectives.
  • Reviews and extracts legislation and legal decisions affecting the program and ensures compliance with all applicable regulations and statutes.
  • Monitors the performance of subordinate areas of responsibility in attaining established business objectives. Takes corrective action as necessary when program objectives are not being attained.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in role by accepting other duties as assigned for which qualified.
  • Identify problems and offer constructive suggestions/solutions.
  • Represents the agency in contacts with other similar agencies and trade associations, clients and regulatory agencies.
  • Participates in compliance reviews, projects, training efforts and audit response.
Other Job Functions
  • Represents the agency by participation and networking with other similar agencies, trade associations, regulatory agencies, and other health care providers.
  • Demonstrates flexibility in the role by accepting other duties as assigned for which qualified.
Work Environment

The employee will be exposed to a variety of uncontrolled work environments. The employee may also be exposed to blood and bodily fluids, virus, disease and infection from patients and environmental hazards in the work environment. The employee may be required to work extended periods of time using a desktop, laptop and/or other mobile device.

Will require work in all agency locations (Concord, Laconia & Wolfeboro).

This is NOT a remote work position but may be eligible for work from home as outlined in the Agency's guidelines.

Expected Hours of Work

The employee will be scheduled to work Monday - Friday: 8am - 4:30pm. Work assignments may include holidays.
