Base pay range

$225,000.00/yr - $250,000.00/yr

Our client, a professional services firm in the Chicago area, is seeking an experienced strategic financial leader equally adept at strategy and managing details. Key characteristics for this position include strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, a strong work ethic coinciding with integrity, and excellent communication skills. The successful candidate must be a team player who believes that no task is too big or too small.

How You’ll Contribute

  • Oversees the accounting department for the firm
  • Oversees all financial and managerial reports for the CEO and the leadership team
  • Manages all treasury and banking relationships
  • Responsible for daily cash management for the firm
  • Works with leadership on contractual issues
  • Bridges strategic and operational decision-making with analytics
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements
  • Manages statutory reporting for the firm alongside outside consultant and the senior leadership team
  • Works with external accounting firms on audits, reviews and compilations along with completion of federal and state tax filings
  • Acts as primary fiduciary agent for 401k plans
  • Oversees and work closely with outsourced IT firm
  • Maintains integrity of all databases and maintains firm documents
  • Supervises, leads and mentors the accounting/finance team

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; MBA or CPA designation desirable
  • 5+ years of experience in a controller or higher role, including experience managing other accounting/finance team members
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and statutory accounting and experience in their applications
  • Experience with S-corporation entity structure and tax reporting
  • Strong skills with information technology
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to lead by example and coach team members
  • Detailed as well as strategically capable
  • Highly self-motivated and able to operate autonomously
  • Highest possible ethical and professional standards
  • Willingness to be onsite in our north suburban offices

The salary range estimate below is inclusive of all departments within the company and offered salaries may vary within the given range between departments. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this level is $225-250,000 annualized plus additional compensation and other competitive benefits.
