Job summary

Mission Investment Fund (MIF) is seeking a Vice President of Finance & Accounting in Chicago. This hybrid role oversees financial leadership, ALM, treasury, budgeting, and accounting operations to advance the ELCA mission.

The role requires 8+ years in finance leadership, CPA/CFA or equivalent, with strong governance, risk, and reporting skills. Travel minimal; relocation not required. Compliance with nonprofit financial standards is essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive finance and accounting leadership experience.
• Ability to translate strategy into financial plans and actions.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute financial strategies to support mission and sustainability.
• Oversee treasury, ALM, and liquidity management activities.
• Lead FP&A, budgeting processes, and financial modeling.
• Direct accounting operations with strong internal controls and GAAP compliance.
• Ensure regulatory filings and risk management frameworks are robust.
• Lead and develop a high-performing finance team.
