Job summary

Mission Investment Fund seeks a Vice President of Finance & Accounting to provide strategic financial leadership, oversee treasury, ALM, FP&A, budgeting, and accounting, and ensure strong internal controls. This is a Chicago-based, hybrid role with collaboration across executives, governance bodies, and auditors to sustain mission impact.

The role requires 8+ years of leadership in finance, CPA/CFA preferred, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive finance and accounting leadership experience, preferably in nonprofit or financial services.
• CPA or CFA designation is preferred, with strong ethical and compliance credentials.
• Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into financial plans and budgets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial leadership to drive mission impact and sustainability.
• Oversee treasury, ALM, cash planning, and investment management activities.
• Lead FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial modeling.
• Manage accounting operations with strong internal controls and GAAP compliance.
• Ensure regulatory filings, risk management, and audit coordination.
• Lead and develop a high-performing finance team and cross-functional collaboration.
