CURYJ seeks a mission-driven Director of Finance, Grants & Operations in Oakland to serve as the senior financial leader. You will own all finance and accounting, oversee government and private grant portfolios, and partner with executives on planning and resource allocation.

This hands-on role requires strategic development and day-to-day management of budgeting, reporting, compliance, and internal controls to support CURYJ's growing impact.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.
• Significant nonprofit financial management experience with oversight of finance functions.
• Experience managing government and private grants and contracts.
• Experience preparing budgets, forecasts, and cash flow analyses.
• Experience coordinating annual financial audits and managing corrective actions.
• Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles and GAAP.
• Experience using QuickBooks Online or comparable accounting software.
• Experience translating financial information into actionable recommendations.

• Lead annual and multiyear budgeting and financial planning.
• Advise leadership on financial implications of program growth and staffing decisions.
• Assess program costs and financial sustainability; recommend reserves.
• Monitor risks like expiring grants and funding concentration.
• Present financial results and scenarios to leadership and board.
• Own grant budgets, reimbursement terms, and financial reporting.
• Oversee month-end/year-end close and internal controls.
• Transition from outsourced accounting to an internal finance function.
• Supervise and develop Finance and Grants staff.
• Oversee HR, IT, facilities, and vendor relationships as needed.
