Zusammenfassung

The South Dakota Historical Society Foundation is seeking an accomplished CEO to lead philanthropy, governance, and the organization’s long-term sustainability. This role reports to the Board and drives strategies that advance statewide programs in archaeology, archives, preservation, and museums.

You will cultivate leadership gifts, manage budgets and investments, supervise Foundation staff, and serve as the principal spokesperson for the Foundation’s mission and partnerships.

Qualifikationen

• Executive or senior leadership experience in nonprofit management, philanthropy, business, higher education, or a related field.
• Demonstrated success leading comprehensive fundraising efforts and cultivating significant philanthropic support.
• Experience managing organizational budgets, financial planning, and staff leadership.
• Experience working effectively with governing boards.

Aufgaben

• Identify philanthropic opportunities with the Board and advance fundraising priorities.
• Cultivate and solicit leadership gifts, building donor relationships.
• Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and investments with the finance committee.
• Ensure internal controls and financial oversight with staff, Board, and committee.
• Monitor investments, endowments, cash flow, and performance; ensure policy compliance.
• Partner with Board to set strategic priorities and evaluate progress.
• Provide leadership for Heritage Stores and Badger Hole operations and revenue activities.
• Strengthen membership with the staff, Board, and volunteers.
• Recruit, develop, supervise, and evaluate Foundation staff.
• Serve as spokesperson and ambassador to raise public awareness.
• Provide leadership for operations, technology, communications, and admin systems.
