The National Association of Charter School Authorizers (NACSA) seeks a Chief Executive Officer to guide the organization through evolving educational policies and charter school accountability. The CEO will report to the Board and drive strategic priorities to improve outcomes for students and communities served by NACSA.
The role emphasizes strengthening NACSA's national voice, building leadership capacity, and ensuring financial resilience while navigating a dynamic landscape of school choice
Our client, The National Association of Charter School Authorizers (NACSA), is a nonprofit organization whose members are dedicated to advancing quality charter school authorizing. Founded in 2000, NACSA’s mission is to advance and strengthen authorizing ideas and practices so students and communities, especially those who are historically under-resourced, thrive. Over the past 25 years, NACSA has become a leading national voice in the field, helping to shape authorizing standards, practices, and policy across the country. Today, NACSA operates within a national landscape of 1,000+ authorizers overseeing 7,000+ charter schools and connects 1,200+ professionals working across the field.
NACSA is seeking a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the organization at a critical moment for both NACSA and the broader charter school sector. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will build on NACSA’s history and credibility as a national voice for quality authorizing and lead the organization into its next chapter. As the charter sector navigates evolving school choice policies, shifting political dynamics, and continued questions about school quality and accountability, the role of authorizing in determining which schools open, how they are held accountable, and whether they continue operating is increasingly consequential. NACSA's next CEO will help shape how authorizing responds to these changes and advances better outcomes for students.
