Job description

The client is appointing a new Chief Executive Officer to lead its largest LGBTQIA+ nonprofit organization in Texas. The incoming CEO will join in November 2026 after a national search, following the planned retirement of the current CEO in early 2027. During a planned transition period, the new leader will work closely with the outgoing CEO to support continuity and organizational momentum.

The CEO is expected to provide strategic leadership and strong operational oversight, building on an established foundation and guiding the organization through a period of significant growth. Key priorities include deepening health and housing services and strengthening advocacy presence for LGBTQIA+ rights and dignity. The role emphasizes community credibility, disciplined institution-building, and expanding impact while sustaining values-driven service to the LGBTQIA+ community and those the organization serves.

The client is seeking a veteran nonprofit executive and LGBTQIA+ advocate with extensive leadership experience, including senior operational responsibility and nonprofit management and leadership tenure. The candidate should be able to oversee major revenue functions, guide institutional advancement and capital campaign efforts, and support community engagement and donor relationships. Experience in education, media, and community advocacy may be considered relevant, along with demonstrated board and executive committee service within The client's ecosystem.
