Job summary

Midlands Housing Alliance and Transitions Homeless Center seek a President and Chief Executive Officer to provide strategic leadership and drive mission impact for adults experiencing homelessness in the Midlands. This externally oriented role reports to the Board and oversees shelter operations, housing navigation, and supportive services, ensuring safety, quality programs, and strong partnerships.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in a field relevant to executive leadership of a complex human services organization.
• Ten+ years of progressively responsible management experience in a complex nonprofit or service organization.
• Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and public communication skills.
• Experience fundraising and donor relations to support development activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide visionary, mission-centered leadership for Midlands Housing Alliance and Transitions Homeless Center.
• Partner with the Board to support governance, strategy, risk, and priorities.
• Oversee shelter operations, housing services, case management, and employment support.
• Lead senior leadership, staff development, succession planning, and organizational culture.
• Ensure fiscal stewardship, audits, reserves, and alignment of resources with mission priorities.
• Build and maintain productive relationships with government, funders, partners, and community stakeholders.
