Job description

Roadway Electric, a Subsidiary of Flatiron Dragados and Pulice Construction, is seeking a Chief Estimator to join our team. We are looking for someone knowledgeable in traffic signals, street lighting, signing, ITS, fiber, and dry-utility scopes of work.

What you will be doing
  • Review proposal specifications, drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
  • Review and incorporate historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, and productivity analysis reports into unit and person-hour figures.
  • Provide technical and industry knowledge towards risk, contract management, owner relationships, and vendor or subcontractor partnerships.
  • Organize and supervise estimating teams to prepare bids, select vendors or subcontractors, and determine the cost-effectiveness of projects to bid.
  • Delegate review of project and regulatory requirements to meet business and minority participation goals.
  • Prepare discipline estimates by calculating complete takeoffs of scope of work and material quantities from engineering drawings.
  • Partner with the estimating team to prepare and conduct project hand-off meetings between pursuit and project management teams.
What we are looking for
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
  • 7 years of construction experience required.
  • 5 years of experience as an Estimator required.
  • 1 year of experience in a senior estimating role required.
  • 10+ years of experience in construction, estimating, or cost control (preferred).
  • Experience leading pursuit and estimating activities for large or complex projects.
  • Construction, design, finance, and management experience required.
  • Expert knowledge of HCSS Heavy Bid Estimating Software.
  • Specialized knowledge in alternative construction delivery methods.
  • Ability to lead pursuit and estimating activities on large or complex projects.
  • Expertise in best practices to control and reduce pursuit costs, quantities, and risks.
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills.

Salary Range

USD $130,000.00 / year to USD $180,000.00 / year.

Additional Benefits

Personal Vehicle Allowance Tier III: $1,150 USD/month.
