Position Overview:

As Chief Estimator, you will serve as a vital leader within our estimating department. You will oversee the preparation of accurate and competitive cost estimates for various projects such as healthcare facilities, large commercial buildings, distribution centers, warehouses, hotels, high-rise and mid-rise condominiums, dormitories, and ultra-high-end homes. While experience with large homes is niche, training will be provided. Your contributions will enhance our project success and support the company's overall growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the estimating team in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of projects.
• Review project plans and specifications to determine the complete scope of work.
• Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure competitive pricing.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and bid proposals.
• Oversee the development and maintenance of historical cost data and estimating software.
• Help hire, train, and mentor junior estimators, ensuring consistency and accuracy in their work.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure project requirements are met.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks in the estimating process.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, material costs, and construction methods.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  
  

Qualifications:

Required Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in estimating; experience as Chief Estimator with a large electrical contractor would be preferred
• Proven track record of successfully estimating large-scale commercial and residential projects.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Proficiency in estimating software and tools.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred but not required.
