MYR Group Inc. is hiring a Chief Estimator to lead the Estimating team, drive project bids, and guide strategic growth across our Chicago area offices. You will oversee budgets, develop competitive cost analyses, and build strong client relationships while ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of proposals.

The role combines leadership with hands-on estimating work and collaboration with executives to expand market share and improve departmental standards.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in construction as Lead or Senior Estimator.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent).

The Chief Estimator leads and develops our Estimating team while driving strategic project selection and business growth. You’ll oversee budgets, team performance, and departmental standards, while providing final review and approval of estimates to ensure accuracy and competitiveness. This is a visible, high-impact role where your expertise directly shapes projects, client relationships, and organizational growth.

ABOUT YOU

Qualifications

• 10+ years in construction, with experience as a Lead or Senior Estimator.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating software.
• Strong knowledge of N.E.C. and local codes.
• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret civil, architectural, structural, and mechanical plans and specifications.
• Collaborative leader who inspires teams and fosters growth.

What We Offer

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary range: $116,458 - $196,815 per year, plus additional incentive opportunities, paid weekly. Final salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Posted ranges are made in good faith, and MYR Group reserves the right to adjust based on the selected candidate’s skills and experience.
