Job summary

Olgoonik Corporation is seeking a construction estimator to develop and manage pre-construction processes and estimates across multiple islands. The role focuses on leading estimating staff, maintaining cost-accurate software, and ensuring proposals align with SOPs.

The ideal candidate will have a BSSE and at least three years of supervisory experience, preferably in electrical projects, with strong knowledge of estimating procedures.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of estimating processes and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement standard operating processes for estimating and pre-construction.
• Identify, hire, and retain adequate estimation staff to support overall estimation efforts.
• Lead, and organize overall company pre-construction processes and efforts.
• Ensure estimating software system is cost accurate and continually updated.
• Estimate and lead the major RFP, bid proposals as required.
• Oversee and ensure that estimates are kept and stored as corporate knowledge.
• Receive and translate feedback from operations and construction team to improve estimation and pre-construction efforts.
• Assist with contract review, and lead the pre-construction turnover effort.
• Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints.

• Construction backlog across all islands.
• Ensure all proposals are in line with corporate GP margin targets.

Operations

• Maintain staff levels across all island markets to support construction.
• Ensure estimating and proposal efforts are in line with Company SOP.

Client Relations

• Maintain existing client base.
• Develop new contractor client base business.

Key Targeted Results (KTR)

Financial

• >9 month construction backlog each island
• Proposal GP 20% overall average

• Annual budget construction manhours

• Develop GC relations with all major GC’s

Primary Responsibilities
