Job description

A well-established construction firm known for delivering large-scale commercial & residential projects, is seeking an experienced Chief Estimator to lead their estimating department and help shape the future of their preconstruction process.

The Role

As Chief Estimator, you'll lead and mentor a team of 10 estimators, overseeing the full estimating process across our project pipeline — from early conceptual budgeting through final bid submission. You'll set estimating standards and best practices, manage risk across bids, and act as the senior authority on pricing strategy in front of ownership, architects, and public agencies. This is a key leadership role reporting directly to senior management, with real influence over which projects they pursue and how they win them.

What You Bring

• 12+ years of estimating experience, including time in a leadership or department-head capacity
• Proven track record on large-scale, ground-up projects of $50M+
• Strong leadership skills with experience building, managing, and developing an estimating team
• Deep expertise in quantity takeoffs, cost databases, subcontractor/vendor procurement, and estimating software (e.g., On-Screen Takeoff, Sage, Bluebeam)
• A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent field experience
