Job summary

The Fordy Group is seeking a Chief Electrical Estimator in Dallas, TX, to lead the estimating function for large-scale electrical projects. The role requires guiding bid strategies and ensuring accurate, competitive proposals for commercial, industrial, and mission-critical work.

You will lead a team of estimators, collaborate with PMs and engineers, and develop strong vendor relationships to win pursuits while shaping the estimating process for growth in Texas.

Qualifications

• 10+ years electrical estimating experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
• Experience with large-scale projects, ideally including data centers or other complex facilities.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA, and relevant electrical industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full estimating process for complex electrical projects from bid review to proposal.
• Evaluate drawings, specs, and scope to develop complete estimates.

As Chief Electrical Estimator, you’ll play a key role in shaping the company’s estimating function, leading the estimating team and helping drive the strategy behind major project pursuits.

The Role

• Lead the full estimating process for complex electrical projects, from bid review through final proposal.
• Evaluate drawings, specifications, and scope to develop complete and accurate estimates.
• Work closely with PMs, engineers, and preconstruction teams to align estimates with project execution strategies.
• Lead, mentor, and develop estimators within the team.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
• Help determine which projects to pursue and develop competitive pricing strategies.
• Support the continued growth and development of the estimating function.

What They’re Looking For

• 10+ years of electrical estimating experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
• Strong commercial, industrial, or mission-critical electrical construction experience.
• Experience estimating large-scale projects, ideally including data centers or other complex facilities.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA, and relevant electrical industry standards.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-lines, specifications, riser diagrams, and panel schedules.
• Experience with estimating software such as Accubid, Trimble, Bluebeam, or similar.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to develop and lead an estimating team.
• A degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent hands‑on experience will be considered.
