Engtal is seeking a Chief Estimator to join a rapidly growing preconstruction team in the Boston area. This senior role leads complex conceptual and hard-bid estimates, mentoring staff and shaping pursuit strategy for marquee projects valued well over $100M.

The hybrid schedule offers two remote days per week and opportunities to influence growth across the Northeast, working with executive leadership on major pursuits and client relationships.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of construction estimating experience.
• Experience as Chief Estimator or senior estimator.
• Experience with large commercial, institutional or infrastructure projects.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.

We are currently partnered with one of New England's premier General Contractors in their search for a Chief Estimator to join a rapidly growing preconstruction team.

This is a rare opportunity to join a highly respected builder with a century-long reputation for delivering some of the region's most complex and recognizable projects. The firm continues to experience significant growth driven by recent project awards across public, infrastructure, energy, higher education, healthcare, and mission-critical sectors.

The Chief Estimator will serve as one of the senior leaders within the estimating organization, working directly with executive leadership to shape pursuit strategy, oversee major estimates, mentor staff, and support the company's continued expansion throughout the Northeast.

The Opportunity

This role offers a unique blend of executive visibility and hands-on leadership. The successful candidate will help lead preconstruction efforts while influencing strategic decisions regarding project pursuits, staffing, subcontractor relationships, and long-term growth initiatives.

Ideal Background

• 15+ years of construction estimating experience
• Previous experience as a Chief Estimator, Lead Estimator, Director of Estimating, or Senior Estimator ready for the next step
• Experience with large commercial, institutional, infrastructure, energy, healthcare, or public-sector projects
• Strong leadership and team development capabilities
• Proven ability to manage large, complex estimates and pursuit strategies
• Bachelor's degree preferred
