Job summary

Brown & Brown in Plano, TX seeks a transformative VP, Engineering & Operations to define and deliver next-gen enterprise engineering, cloud, and infrastructure capabilities. Reporting to the CITO, this role leads modern technology adoption, operational excellence, and scalable organizational design.

The ideal candidate will build and scale high-performing teams, architect cloud and AI-enabled platforms, and drive FinOps and automation across all environments.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive experience in data, analytics, engineering, or related fields, including senior leadership.
• Deep expertise in data governance, data engineering, cloud modernization strategies, and FinOps.
• Strong ability to drive organizational change and build data-driven cultures.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute multi-year engineering, operations, cloud strategy aligned with enterprise goals.
• Shape operating models to improve agility, scalability, and maturity.
• Serve as strategic advisor to the CITO on technology trends and organizational design.
• Lead workforce transformation to uplift skills, leadership capabilities, and team effectiveness.
• Build and mature FinOps to optimize cloud spend and forecasting.
• Oversee enterprise infrastructure strategy across networks, compute, storage, and end user technologies.
• Establish engineering standards, governance, and reusable frameworks.
• Build the Operations & Command Center with proactive monitoring and incident response.
