Job summary

Bonsai Robotics is seeking a strategic, hands-on SVP of Engineering to lead our software and hardware organizations. You will translate a bold engineering vision into executable roadmaps, manage budgets, and partner with product, operations, and leadership to deliver reliable autonomy platforms and field-ready vehicles.

You will build and guide high-performing teams, establish operating rhythms, and drive cross-functional collaboration to scale our robotics portfolio in demanding field

Qualifications

• 15+ years engineering leadership experience, with software and hardware oversight.
• Proven track record delivering complex robotics/autonomy products from concept to deployment.
• Strong systems-level understanding of robotics, AI, and platform development.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across executive, technical, and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the engineering strategy for Bonsai Robotics across software, hardware, autonomy, AI, and platform development.
• Lead and scale a multidisciplinary engineering organization to meet ambitious roadmaps and budgets.
• Align architecture and staffing with company priorities and milestones.
• Collaborate with product, operations, and go-to-market teams to translate business priorities into technical plans.
• Oversee end-to-end engineering execution, design for reliability, and ensure manufacturing readiness.
• Represent engineering at the executive level and communicate risks and decisions clearly.
