Job summary

Oshkosh Defense, an Oshkosh company, seeks a Chief Engineer for xEV Powertrain Controls & Software to lead embedded software, controls, and system engineering across EV propulsion, battery, charging, and thermal management. You will shape the technical vision while ensuring safety, cybersecurity, and quality standards.

You will drive cross-domain collaboration, guide budget and staffing, and represent engineering decisions to stakeholders.

Qualifications

Accredited Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 10+ years of related experience.
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering is a plus.

Responsibilities

Own the technical roadmap for xEV propulsion controls and E/E systems.
Lead cross-functional development of E/E architecture, traction inverter controls, battery management integration, and thermal strategies.
Drive software-defined vehicle initiatives including diagnostics and scalable architectures.
Define system requirements, control strategies, software architecture, and interface specs.
Lead the xEV E/E software and controls team with Systems Eng., Calibration, Integration, and Platform teams.
Deliver software/ECUs with design reviews, CM, supplier collaboration, and cost improvement plans.
