General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) has an opening for a Chief Engineer for Space EO/IR Payloads within the Optical Sensor System Group in Acton, MA. You will drive the technical strategy and execution across pre-award concepts through on-orbit operations.

The role requires senior leadership, multi-disciplinary expertise, and a DoD security clearance, with responsibility for architecture, requirements, testing, and risk management across payload programs.

Formación

• Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in engineering or related field from an accredited institution.
• Eighteen+ years with bachelor's; sixteen+ with master's; thirteen+ with PhD; equivalent experience allowed.
• Experience leading EO/IR space payload design, performance analysis, assembly, test, and operation.
• Broad Space Systems and Ground Test domain experience.
• Experience with EO/IR sensor assembly, integration, and test teams.
• Strong communication with customers and senior management.
• Active DoD security clearance required.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and refine space payload architectures for weather, earth science, missile defense, ISR missions.
• Provide technical direction for EO/IR payload development, interfacing, integration, and testing.
• Support concept, architecture, requirements, trade studies, and modeling/simulation.
• Organize and review technical efforts and deliverables with program management.
• Act as technical authority and main payload POC for customers/stakeholders.
• Guide program risk/opportunity management and issue resolution.
• Mentor staff to develop SMEs.
