Job summary

Hyatt Place Canton is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead the engineering team, oversee maintenance of guestrooms and public spaces, and ensure safety and smooth operation. You will handle equipment, cost controls, and guest service support while maintaining property appearance and security.

The role requires supervisory experience, relevant certifications, and strong problem-solving skills to manage issues under pressure and keep the property performing at a high level.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Progressively responsible maintenance experience in hotel or related setting.
• Supervisory experience required; ability to lead a team.
• Current HVAC, pool, electrical certifications as needed.
• License to operate/repair boilers and chillers per local laws.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance: keep guest rooms and public spaces in top condition aligned with standards.
• Team Leadership: supervise engineering staff, schedule shifts, drive performance.
• Safety: perform fire safety checks and drills to protect guests and staff.
• Guest Service: respond to maintenance requests and support service excellence.
• Property Surveillance: patrol grounds, manage debris, maintain appearance.
• Security & Access: secure sensitive areas and represent the company with integrity.
