Job summary

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) seeks a Chief Engineer in Huntsville, AL to lead engineering transformation for PAC-3 production acceleration. You will drive DFM/DFT/ DFA, collaborate with manufacturing to boost throughput, and guide cross-functional teams to improve designs and processes.

The role requires a BS in engineering, 10+ years in engineering and leadership, and the ability to obtain US Citizenship and security clearance. Relocation offered and first shift.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of engineering experience in production/manufacturing.
• Minimum 10 years of leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering transformation initiatives to accelerate PAC-3 production rates.
• Embed design for manufacturability (DFM), design for testability (DFT), and design for assembly (DFA).
• Collaborate with manufacturing and production teams to improve production systems, tooling and processes.
• Develop technical strategies to optimize product designs and workflows for scalability.
• Identify and mitigate engineering risks related to rate acceleration.
• Coordinate with suppliers and supply chain to ensure timely material delivery for ramp-up.
• Lead cross-functional teams on engineering change and ensure quality and safety standards.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to engineering teams on transformation efforts.
• Support proposal development and participate in technical reviews for production acceleration.
• Monitor and report metrics on technical performance and production improvements.
